About the Authors

We are a group of Arizona State University Students studying at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. This website is a way for us to become more well-acquainted with the world of virtual journalism while exploring restaurants in the downtown Phoenix area.

Claire Cooper

Originally from Colorado, I am a sophomore studying journalism at Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. Currently a breaking news reporter at the Arizona Republic, my dream is to one day work for National Geographic. Dessert is always a good idea.

Lauren Thompson

Born in Texas but raised in Gilbert, Arizona, I am a sophomore at Arizona State University studying journalism with a focus in public relations. As far as brunch goes, I enjoy coffee, tea and anything with chocolate on it.

Shari Rose

Born and raised in southern California, I am a sophmore double-majoring in journalism and political science at ASU. I've worked for the school newspaper, The State Press, and will be a reporter for The Arizona Republic next fall. I'm 100% gluten-free but that doesn't mean good food isn't out there - you just have to look a little harder for it. 

Kristy Westgard

If you are what you eat, than I'm a simple Sunday brunch made from good ingredients and lots of love. I'm an Arizona native at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and an aspiring investigative journalist or food journalist--or both. After all, who says you can't have your cake and eat it too?
